Hotels

Pros

Traditionally where most stay on vacation, hotels are a great place to get away from it all. You will be looked after from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave. Generally, breakfast will be included in the hotel dining room.

Hotels are normally located in the center of the town, making it easy to get around. Sometimes even close to the attractions of the area.

Hotels have the facilities that many people crave. Restaurants, bars, spa and sauna, swimming pools, even tour desks for all your touring needs.

Hotels can offer budget type accommodation or midrange price tags, or if you want to blow the budget you stay in the lap of luxury at a property of 5 or more stars.

Cons

• Space is limited and sometimes hotels rooms can be small and cramped. This could be a problem when a family is staying together in a room.
• Hotel rooms can be expansive, the cost of staying one room for a week can be costly.
• As hotel rooms do not include meals so you will need to eat out for most meals.

Apartments

Pros

• Staying in an apartment can be the answer to all your travel needs. Families for example could benefit from holidaying this way. In an apartment there is more space to move around.
• You get to use the kitchen facilities making meals so you save money and don’t have to eat out every day. Cook meals when you don’t feel like going out.
• Separate rooms means that you can spread out and separate for more privacy. Generally, apartments have a laundry room so you can do your laundry when the need arises.
• The cost of an apartment could be much cheaper especially if you want to stay an extended period of time.

Cons

• Sometimes the apartments are not in the center of town, making it more difficult to get around.
• Less facilities and not as luxurious as a hotel room.
• No mixing with the other hotel guests.
• No tour desk if you want to take a tour for the day.
